Focus On Your Goal

Take a look at the picture in this post. Your first thought is probably that it’s a picture of a flower; and it is. But there are actually multiple flowers in the picture. The flower in the foreground is clear, detailed and in focus. While the other flowers in the photo are blurred and in the background.

Reaching your goal requires dedicated focus. While working toward accomplishing your goal, it’s necessary to blur out anything that is distracting and focus solidly on the goal and what it takes to complete it. You must focus on completing the steps and tasks that will bring the goal to completion.

Of course, there will always be many things in your life vying for your attention. There will always be something that can distract you from what’s most important. But there are some things that are just not as relevant as other things. It’s helpful to regularly pause and sort through what’s going on in your life.  Determine the relevance of the things vying for your attention and focus on those that are most relevant. And among those that are most relevant, prioritize to determine which are the most important. What is it that you should be working on at this moment in time? This “sorting through” is something that needs to be done on a regular basis to help ensure that you are focused on what’s really important.

So, focus and zero in so intently on your goal until it resembles this picture. Where the goal is sharp, detailed and in focus and the less relevant and less important things are in the background and blurred away.
